4th Installation Ceremony

Rotaract Club of Damauli successfully completed “4th Installation Ceremony” with huge participation of Rotaractors, Rotarians, Guests, Journalists and other participants. Ceremony was started at 3:30 PM by SAA Rtr. Bishnu Hadkhale calling president 2006-07 Rtr. Prem Kumar Shrestha to begin the ceremony. President Rtr. Prem Kumar Shrestha called Master of Ceremony (MC) Rtr. Ramesh Adhikari to start the ceremony. Ceremony was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. Hari Prasad ‘Kiran’ Ojha, executive officer of Vyas Municipality. Then program started with the welcome speech by Rtr. Purna Thapa. After the welcome speech Secretary Rtr. Ramesh Adhikari presented the Club Report 2006-07. Similary CP of RC Damauli Rtr. Anil Godar & PP Rtn. Dev Kumar Shrestha put their goodwill speech. President for 2007-08 of Rotary Club of Damauli Rtn. Krishna Chandra Subedi, Programme Co-ordinator Rtr. Paras Kumar Shrestha expressed their views in the procession. Thereafter, President 2006-07 Rtr. Prem Kumar Shrestha announced award distribution for the best work by rotaractor in Rota Year 2006-07 in different discipline. For Best co-ordinator for 2006-07 Rtr. Damodar Bhandari & Rtr. Purna Thapa received the award for co-ordinating ‘Sachin Memorial Marathon Competition’ & ‘Dental Camp 2063’ respectively. Rtr. Paras Kumar Shrestha awarded with the Best Rotaractor of the year 2006-07.

Similarly Certificate of Appreciation received by different organization for supporting financial and other support. Same time Chief Guest of the ceremony Mr. Hari Prasad ‘Kiran’ Ojha released the annual souvenir of the club “ROTARACT KOSELEE”. Introducing Chief Guest & President 2007-08 by Rtr. Daya Raj Pandey & Rtr. Rajendra Sharma President 2006-07 Rtr. Prem Kumar Shrestha handovered the president collar, charter certificate of the club, hammer & gravel, lapel pin to President 2007-08 Rtr. Damodar Bhandari. Ceremony was continued with speech from President 2006-07 and indroduction new member by Rtr. Krishna Hari Poudel, Rtr. Sudeep Kumar Baniya & Rtr. Bikash Karki. Giving ‘Token of Love’ to President 2006-07 Rtr. Prem Kumar Shrestha, new President 2007-08 introduced new team of RC Damauli 2007-08 and distributed lapel pin to all. After that Chief Guest of the ceremony Mr. Hari Prasad ‘Kiran’ Ojha expressed his view towards Rotaract Club of Damauli. President 2007-08 Rtr. Damodar Bhandari gave ‘Token of Love’ to Chief Guest. Giving vote of thanks by Vice President Rtr. Sagar Poudel ceremony was closed with the closing speech of President 2007-08 Rtr. Damodar Bhandari. After the closing of ceremony, all paricipant gathered for the dance party and fellowship program. All rotaractor of RC Damauli, Rotarians, guest participants from RC Lamjung heavily enjoyed the dance party. At last RC Damauli ended the ‘4th Installation Ceremony’ keeping new vision and new mission with ‘Youth in Action’.

Celebration World Environment Day 2007

Damauli - Rotaract Club of Damauli successfully completed the celebration of World Environment Day 2007 with its 'Suiro Aviyan' extension programme. All Rotaract members, local people, journalist and municipality employee actively participated in this program.

Approximately 200 suiro (Iron rope) were distributed to the household in first day. The distribution program is going on. RC Damuauli targeted to distribute 1500 suiro in this extension program. Then Suiro Aviyan covers the whole area of Vyas Municipality.

On the same occasion RC Damauli distributed 'Suiro Aviyan' brochure and requested all the people of vyas municipality to donate plastic in suiro to protect the environment and help the poor and disable people.

Celebrating World Environment Day 2007

Damauli - Rotaract Club of Damauli is going to extend its community service based project "Suiro Aviyan" on 5th June (22, Jestha) on the occasion of th World Environment Day 2007. RC Damauli is continuing this project since 2005.

From the view of environmental expect, "Suiro Aviyan" playing a major role to decrease environmental pollution in Vyas Municipality. RC Damauli distributes iron ropes (suiro) to collect plastics producing as waste from every household and earning from those plastic goes to poor and helpless people.

Plastics do not degrade easily and persist in the environment, slowly releasing toxic chemicals. Municipal solid wastes contain a mix of plastics, which are often burnt at the dumpsites or on roadsides, releasing toxic chemicals, including 'dioxins', when chlorinated compounds are burnt at a certain temperature. Small amount of dioxins can have effects that become obvious only in the later part of human life, like impaired intellectual development, infertility and other reproductive disorders at puberty.

On the big demand of vyasnagar citizens Rotaract Club of Damauli expanding its project area to ward no. 2, 10 & 11 of the municipality. RC Damauli doing this project in few household of ward no. 2 & 10 previously.

People and organizations are invited to come along and find out how small changes can make a big difference to the environment. RC Damauli going to celebrate World Environment Day with its main slogan "Melting Ice - A Hot Topic?" with our Suiro Aviyan slogan "Plastic Fohor Hoina Mohor Ho" (Plastic is not a waste, it can be use as earning).
